Pre-Alpha 1.1.2 - Snail Update

Summary:

Added a couple new quality of life features, one new enemy, one new item, and improved things in the backend which will make development easier.

New Features

General / Quality of Life

  • Offscreen enemies now create a pointer at the edge of the screen to assist in locating them, primarily helpful on larger levels.
  • Jumping off a wall while climbing it will result in a “push off” effect if you have the Belay.
  • Adjusted knockback dealt by the player to account for new backend changes.

Enemies

  • Global Slime Change:
    • Now has a variable bounce time after landing rather than always landing and launching at the same time. On average they move faster.
  • New Area 1 Enemy: Snail
    • Moves left and right, bouncing if it hits a wall or reaches an edge where it would fall

Items

  • Available before the Grove (Area 3), the Overly Bloody Knife - Stackable
    • Dealing damage heals you for 3 hp (+3 per stack)

Bug Fixes

  • Gave the “Sentient Geode” (Area 1 flying purple enemy) a “spawn-in” animation which it was previously missing.
  • Fixed an issue where the Titankill Concoction would not apply to extra attacks from the Propagating Blade

Backend

  • Reduced tech debt in the form of “unifying” a significant amount of functions and variables for Enemies which now belong to the base class instead of being cloned on every instance, which will make development of new enemies significantly less tedious.
