Pre-Alpha 1.1.0 - The Galactic Grove
Summary:
Added a new purple area, fixed various bugs, and added a new item. The new area is very similar to the old ones, but enemies are stronger and purple.
New Features
- The Belay now resets your jumps while on a wall, allowing better synergy with the Air Padded Boots.
- Added a new area, the “Galactic Grove”
- Am I stalling on “proper” content? Maybe.
- The “Stage Construction Gimmick” is that there are no “vertical” room exits. Subject to change.
- Marble Meadow doesn’t have one, Clay Caverns’ is a lot of platforms
- The final boss has been moved here, the Clay Caverns now brings you to the store.
- Added a “““ new “““ enemy, the Purple Slime, which appears in the new area
- Added a “““ new “““ boss, the Big Purple Slime, which appears in the new area
- It effectively just makes the game longer, having no new enemies or items yet, but grants a purpose to there being currency in the Clay Caverns
- Added a new item available outside Marble Meadow, the Parrying Blade
- Picking it up causes you to attack in the direction of whatever hits you when you get hit
- Stacking it reduces the cooldown for that effect, and increases damage.
Balance Changes
- Removed health regen on the bosses
- Buffed the player’s starting health, 80 -> 100
- Buffed the player’s starting regen, 3 -> 5
- Buffed the regen upgrade value, +3 per up -> +5 per up
- Price increase is adjusted accordingly.
- Reduced prices in the store
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug which allowed you to rebind multiple inputs simultaneously, and made things inconvenient to rebind to a mouse button.
- Fixed a bug with pressing the “pause menu” button while holding down “resume”
- Added a missing platform in the bottom exit of the “2x2” room in the Clay Caverns
- Fixed a few bugs relating to climbing, such as occasional momentum resetting
- Potentially fixed a bug where “unique” items could generate multiple times.
- Fixed a bug which made the camera jump when restarting a new game.
- Still persists when changing areas.
Pre-Alpha 1.1.1 - Rapidly Created Crash Hotfix
Summary:
The only feature of this update was fixing a crash that could occur if you got incredibly unlucky. Adding it here to the other devlog because it is a single (albeit important) bug fix.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a crash that occurred while going through the portal if the boss room from the previous level was the last room generated in that level.
